Newsletter - May 2022

Updated: May 3

Sonoma Ready at the Coast - Saturday, May 14 - 10:00 AM to noon, Bodega Bay Grange. Please put this event on your calendar! Besides BB CERT, Sonoma County Supervisor Hopkins, Sonoma County Fire District, Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management, the Halter Project (Julie!), and the Sheriff's office will be there to meet the public, talk about roles in a disaster, and provide information about what folks can do to prepare. There will be freebies, including "go bags," radios, and other emergency supplies. BB CERT will have a table with handouts and displays, including a demo by Ham radio operators. We encourage our friends, families, and neighbors to attend -- especially all CERTs, shed captains and volunteers. Trained CERTs: please come wearing your green CERT vest. We look forward to seeing you at Sonoma Ready at the Coast.

CERT Training Opportunity

The next CERT training opportunity is being provided in hybrid (online and in-person) format by Northern Sonoma County CERT. The in-person portions will be held on two Saturdays, June 25 and July 9 at the Cloverdale Veterans Memorial building. Attendance on both Saturdays is required to complete the training.

Fish Fest Follow-up

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth at the Bodega Bay Fish Fest! We appreciate your interest and hope to see you at one of our events. We are STILL in need of volunteers for our disaster shed teams. If you have an interest, please send us an email at bodegabaycert94923@gmail.com, and we will link you up with your shed captain.

Thanks also to those who have expressed an interest in ham radio class. We will be in touch.
